firepit and seating

productdesign, in cooperation with Lara Friesz, 2019

During an Artist-in-Residence program initiated by Interreg Austria–Czech Republic, we developed a concept to enhance the Josef Hoffmann Museum in Brtnice (Czech Republic), making it more appealing to both visitors and residents.

The concept features seating and a firepit on a platform in the museum’s garden. The seating comprises two multifunctional elements: stools of varying heights that can be stacked together to form a table. The fire, with its warm and inviting atmosphere, creates a central gathering space that fosters social connections. Beyond its primary function, the platform can also transform into a stage for performances, events, and other activities.

The project was presented in 2019 at the exhibition MAK-Designcamp at the MAK Forum of the MAK Museum of Applied Arts Vienna.
